Norwegian Waffle Recipe

Norwegian Waffles

Waffles are very traditional in Norway, they are served at almost every event and gathering. If you ever visit a Norwegian Seamen's Church in any country, you are sure to be served waffles there too. There are probably as many waffle recipes as villages in Norway, but they all have in common flower, sugar and milk.

Waffles originated as early as the Neolithic Age and was then a hotcake made of cereal pulps cooked on heated stones and then flipped. The recipe and cooking methods have changed through the times, and about 700 years ago the first waffle irons were produced in the Netherlands and Germany.
